This is a silk pile on silk warp carpet.  The pile is natural Mulberry silk and the warp is silk,  that combines to offer inter-generational durability. 
 
At 600 knots per inch, you are aquiring an heirloom, as the durability of the carpet is exceptional.
 
The silk gives a glinting shift of colours as you move around the rug.
