This is a silk pile on silk warp carpet.  The pile is natural Mulberry silk and the warp is silk,  that combines to offer inter-generational durability. 
 
At 700 knots per square inch, a craftsman worked for about a year to bui;d tis carpet. 
The silk gives a glinting shift of colours as you move around the rug.  We have tried to capture this effect in the sequence of photos.
